I believe that cannabis does releave spasticity, pain and sleep issues. Though, unfortunately whilst the world progresses with its use for medical conditions, England maintains its orthodox position. The latest example can be depicted as follows: http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/oct/08/drug-multiple-sclerosis-england-wales-nice

I have never been a supporter of the use of cannabis for general "fun". So I am in a bit of a pickle. I do think that it can help MS patients, but deep inside I still find it wrong! I am debating with myself if I would ever use it if it got to a point where I could benefit from it. I really don't know! If it is being kept off the shelves because of the price though, then it is ridiculous! Thanks for sharing that article RocknRoll.

Hey eeryone, I am new to the site and stumbled upon this conversation and I want to comment because I really belive canabis can help cure a lot of things, or at least help cope with, but big pharmaceuticals have lobbyed against its use so they can profit more with their chemical made remedies.
I have two friends with different diseases and it has helped them a lot to cope, both have cancer, I use it also and it does help. I know strictly it is not legal, but hear me when I tell you it helps and in moderate dosis there is nothing to fear.

I agree with you ganganmz. When my pain/muscle spasms have got to the point of being unbearable, I too have only needed a very small amount to begin to gain relief. I often begin to feel the difference/change (in pain, muscle spasms) within a few minutes and my muscles often seem to continue relaxing for about 15-20 minutes without needing anymore of this substance. Although very infrequently use/need this intervention, it has facilitated me to be able to function again/perform everyday tasks.

Hello I live in England and they are still against it for medical purposes I do agree that it helps with pain and it is a good thing hopefully that will understand soon and let people have it for medical use

Some of this is out of date. There is a drug (spray I think) made from cannabis that can be prescribed for spasticity. I forget what it is called but I'm asking my consultant for it in a couple of months when I see him. I'm in England and it is available.

I talked to my MS Nurse about Sativex but in her experience, talking to her patients about the efficiency of Sativex compared to cannabis, she unfortunately stated that they had not found Sativex as efficient as cannabis. Saying that, everyone is different and whatever helps and is personally satisfactory to patients, is all that should matter?

Hello everyone,
What are your thoughts on the controversial use of cannabis as a treatment for e.g. muscle spasms?
Please feel free to share your thoughts here.
All the best,
