Stress , change of meds. The weather causes problems but not flares as such.

The worst flare up I had was weather related. When we had the heatwave in the UK last summer I ended up on the sofa not moving for over a week . Next worse is stress and lack of sleep.

I have to agree stress is a big factor for me and trying to do too much,as well as a lack of sleep play a very big part.

Stress has caused a major flare up and weight loss which has made more stress and seems no end to it. Lack of sleep just adds to the worry .

Definitely stress and long exposure to sun. Would you recommend any sun cream?

Definitely stressful situations and anything that causes inflammation. That includes inflammatory foods like chilis.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, lupus can attack patients with "flares". Different things cause flares in different people.
What causes your lupus to flare up? How do you avoid it?
