Hi puddskins
I was diagnosed in June 2018 with lung cancer and had 6 chemo and 30 radiotherapy . My tumour shrunk from 6cm to 1cm.
I started immuneotherapy in Jan 2019 which is every 2 weeks for a year.
It is tough every day is a struggle but everyday is a bonus. It is important to fight this with your mum .
If you need to chat I like many others here are always here you are not alone
Take care
Muriel

I recommend the Roy Castle Lung Foundation site it is the only one I found that gives hope. Learning to live with LC is not easy but it can be done. There are many success stories out there so think positive and get everything you can out of every day.

@Puddskins @Eileenthegood @DianaFM @jkelly @Muriel Thank you all for you kind messages, they have restored me a little bit.
Diana, that sounds like a very difficult situation but if you fought cancer once, try and gather your strength to do it again! Cancer is terrible but my whole family is trying to stay positive. It can be so difficult though, my mind wanders to the "what if" constantly :(

@Eileenthegood Hello, I know this a bit late, but could you tell me more about your experiences with Roy Castle? I've looked at their website, but I'm wondering how their support groups work? Can you just sit and listen quietly if you don't feel comfortable talking at first?

They can vary in size and are usually facilitated/supported by a lung cancer nurse specialist. Patients and carers/relatives attend and many are at different stages of their condition so can offer moral support and practical hints on how their experience was. Give their nurse led helpline a call and they can tell you more about the group/s in your area, frequency and hopefully a local number to call to learn more. good luck.

Hi,I'm new to this group and just wanted a bit of advice really.I had a growth on my lung at Xmas which was 7mm.I had another scan a couple of weeks ago and it had grown to 1cm.I am going for a lung biopsy on Wednesday but Iv already had a pet scan .I thought you had a pet scan after a biopsy?just a bit confused as it is going to be around another 2 weeks before I get all of my results and I'm feeling a bit anxious, especially with this corona virus going around,as I have emphysema .x

Hello,
My brother has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and it has really sent me reeling...I hide how scared I am for him but I feel as if my world has been turned upside down...
How do I cope with this diagnosis? How do I help my brother? I'm feeling lost and devastated
