Glad to have you back on the site.
I send you sympathy during such a long pause, as I know the feeling and imagine how upset you are at the moment. It is very disheartening to know that one has done so well without any seizures, but it seems that after a long break when one has one, it knocks us back even more and its harder to get over the side effects.
I have had epilepsy now for 45 years and was having a tonic clonic seizure monthly, sometimes more often. As I've got older the break in between went from 1 tonic clonic a month to 1 every 3 months. I had a good break of 15 months, then 'bang' it hit again! Heat, i.e. humidity, and stress were the 2 main factors that affected me.
I re-located from South Africa over 16 months ago, and am now based in UK. Upon arrival I had one major tonic clonic seizure due to stress from leaving another country. The weather is colder and the lifestyle is totally different; this has relaxed me and I've now gone for just over 16 months free. I still suffer from minor absence/partial seizures but it definitely has been a good improvement and I thank every day that goes past with no major seizures. I've currently just had MRI/MRA testing and hope to get results in April; what impact this will have on my medication I have no idea!
Hang in there, do not give up hope, get better soon and remember, stay positive!
