I am very overweight (take metformin) and having osteoarthritis which doesn't help as it is spreading through my body. However I do try and keep as mobile as possible. I volunteer at three lunch clubs a week although one of them stops for the month of August but it is good exercise. My husband who also suffers with Type 2 Diabetes and I are members of the local council owned leisure centre. We use the gym, sauna, steam room and swimming pool. The gym we use has bikes, treadmill, rowing machines and other cardio vascular machines plus controlled weights.
Is that something you might be able to do?
Swimming is good exercise and a way to make friends. Your local leisure centre may do aqua aerobic sessions as well.

Hi Guys, I recall that when I was on metfartin.. oops - I mean Metformin, it destroyed a lot of B vitamins, so I took a supplement to replace what Metformin destroyed. The wind I got from it as well, was very unsociable!

Hi everyone I have type 2 and take tablets and inject twice daily. I miss a few injections as I am not very good at remembering. My diabetes is not controlled and my weight has increased with the Insulin. I try to have a good diet and even had tablets from the diabetic clinic but my weight stays the same. Does anyone else suffer like me?
