Yes I think the diabetes has contributed to my sex life in that I can no longer maintain an erection so sex is not penetrative.
we still enjoy sex and I have been prescribed sidenafil which helps but still cannot maintain the erection
i think my sex drive is still ok despite my age of 72

Yep, no sex for me but I will say it is a combination of overweight and diabetes combined in a 'perfect storm'.
I can usually loose a few pounds which benefits me all round!

@robjmckinney I have been prescribed the same tablets. my main concern when using them is the headaches, which can be quite severe and it speeds up my heart rate.

@anto65 Hi Anto,
Not a fan of drugs, sticking to losing weight and things hopefully return to normal if there is such a thing.
I have accepted my age is catching up but I have a very patient wife and that helps!

Hi Rob, I'm the same, I only use the drug when I totally need it, I still get erections but not like before, old age is a part of it.

@anto65 Well still on my diet, loosing weight and hoping things will return to normal. They now say Viagra is great for Dementia, no doubt increased blood flow to the brain as well as 'other parts'. So I may consider regular tablets for my forgetfulness, or a good excuse anyway now we don't need a prescription!

I am slightly confused by the word sexuality, I don’t feel that has change but my libido has it decreased drastically may be one cannot put all the blame on diabetes. I also suffer with RA and Fibromyalgia so pain prevents movement.

Hello all,
How are you today?
Like many chronic illnesses, type 2 diabetes can have an impact on our sexual lives. From low libido, numbness or lack of feeling, to sexual dysfunction, diabetes can cause complications in the bedroom for both genders.
Has type 2 diabetes had an impact on your romantic or sex life? How have you overcome it?
