Hello @Chris Duffy , thank you for opening this discussion. Let me tag some other members who may be able to share their thoughts with you.
Hello all, how are you doing this Friday afternoon?
Have you had your COVID-19 vaccination yet? If so, can you tell us about it? Did you have any side effects? Do you know which vaccine you received? If not, when do you think diabetics will become eligible? Are you looking forward to having the jab?

Hi,
I had my first Covid 19 jab mid January, I am a type 2 Diabetic with COPD and several other underlaying health issues, I was given the Astra zenicca vaccine and to be honest I've had NO side effects whatsoever. I am due my secondary injection on 20th April and don't expect anything different from my first experience to happen. I hope this account of mine allays any fears that anyone may have.
Kindest regards, Trudy 😃

I suffer from type II diabetes. The Jab? Yes I've had my vaccine the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine back at the beginning of March as I am in the 'seriously at rick of death' group, my second 'jab' is booked in for the 26th April at 14-07 pm. The first injection was painless. Then a little 'niggle' started in the front of my head, nothing much to worry about. Went to bed, then at about 4 am I started to have terrible shakes ( so my wife tells me). She said that I shook violently at around 4-25 am. she held my arms down tight to stop me from hurting myself. I woke up with Wendy on my chest holding me down, that has to be one of the scariest moments of my life? Within an hour all had settled down and I was back to normal, it's a very similar reaction that I encountered when I had my malaria vaccine when I went to China to work for a month back in the '90s. Next jab is the 26th April 2021 at 14-07 pm. Cant wait to have my final injection for this years outbreak of Covid-19. Then prepare for next years jab?
STAY SAFE Take Care

I also had AZ and didn't have any side effects. Having my second dose next week. It's encouraging to know that it's protecting us because for such a long while we kept hearing how diabetes patients were so dangerously at risk.
Stay well everyone!
