For my lungs I take vitamin D3 I asked the doctor for the vitamin D deficiency test after it was found I had osteoporosis a test I also requested because oral steroids among other things can cause bone thinning and of course if anyone is also vitamin D deficient this is not going to be helpful for lung health or bone health.
My vitamin D levels are above deficient range now, but to keep them up I take 1000 IU of D3 summer time and 2000 IU of D3 winter time. Sun exposure during months of May to September 20 mins without any cream on the skin, face, forearms minimum exposure, body can make masses of vitamin D from sun exposure, much more than is safe to take as a supplement. So natural vitamin D production is much better and safer than supplements but when deficient D3 supplementation is essential to health.
I have just started to take Q10, heart health and immune system benefits among other things.
I enjoy although expensive the food drink supplements by bioglan, they are loaded with vitamins and minerals, taste good and does you good :) this you can take instead of multi vitamin and mineral supplement in tablet form.
Vitamin A I take periodically, is said to be helpful for bones and lungs but with vitamin A supplement you have to check the vitamin A content in other supplements to be sure not to overdose in that one.
Take fat soluable vitamins like vit A and D with some cheese, yoghurt, coconut oil or buttered toast etc, or fatty meal (this helps with the absorption)
I tend to supplement more through the winter months to help keep immune system boosted and at any time I may feel like I need to get more of that get up and go feeling :)

thank you so much for all the information. I already take vit D and when i have a chest infection i take propolis...sometimes saves me having antibiotics. best wishes Jeano

Hi I have just been reading that vitamin D is beneficial for people with COPD. Does anyone have any experience of this or information regarding other supplements that can be helpful. thanks.
