Stress to you mum that it was found through a mammogram - and that means early! Also how treatment has changed and how survival rates are so much better now. Tell her that you are strong because you come from a strong mum and that you will get through this and almost be stronger because of it. It is in times like these you know who your real family and friends are. Hold close - you will get through

Hi my name is Sharon. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks ago. It was an absolute shock as I had no lumps or symptoms and it was found through my first mammogram which I had been called for early as part of a trial. I'm 49. There is no history of cancer in my family. I'm dealing with it ok and I use humour a lot as a coping mechanism. How can I stop my mum falling apart though? I love her and hate seeing her so upset. I've tried to convince her I will be fine but she won't have it! I am due to have the isotope dye on Monday then my surgery on Tuesday but I'm not worried about me I'm more worried about my mum. Does anyone have any advice?
thanks
Sharon x
