@Courtney_J Oh goodness yes, my partner has it and I love him dearly, but it is VERY difficult on me, mostly right now because he doesn't like his sleep mask and doesn't wear it. I find it stressful because he snores very loudly which keeps me awake and wakes me up but then also scares the dickens out of me. For a while we've had to sleep in separate rooms, until he gets his mask figured out. I know it's not his fault but it's really hard on me. And I know his quality of life isn't good because his exhausted and grumpy in the day.

@jessyoucan My wife went through the same thing and I felt so awful about it. I wasn't sleeping well so of course I didn't feel spectacular, but knowing that I was keeping my wife from sleeping well was terrible as well. I'm lucky she put up with me! It took a lot of patience from her side the time that it took me to be diagnosed, to find the right machine and mask and to adjust to it all. I'm lucky to have her and that she put up with me. I guess patience really helps. Hang in there, you will get through this!

@Somya.P Well apart from being a passion killer, the noise can be irritating at times, better that than living without her, it has been a life saver beyond sleep apnoea!

@Pamela62 That’s completely understandable. Starting a new relationship can already be so nerve-wracking, without adding sleep apnea to the mix. Please remember that you deserve someone who understands you and your condition and sees it as something that is a part of you and not a hindrance. Best of luck to you and take care!

Good morning everyone,
How are you today?
As you know, sleep apnoea can be difficult for both the patient and his or her loved ones.
Does your sleep apnoea have an impact on your relationships or life as a couple? Why or why not? How do you cope with this?
