Hi All my sister is on methotrexate for some years for RA. Doing well but getting frequent rashes in legs, have to take antibiotics to clear. Has anyone got this problem and how have they dealt with it. Does not have any other health problems

@Whiskers I am more or less the same , only am 74 at the moment March 2021. I have to say you seem very pragmatic about everything, I’m afraid I’m more difficult. I’m finding I can’t cope with the problems with my whole body and wonder how I am going to cope in the future. Thankyou for your comments, and I wish you well.

This year have started to get skin blisters or ulcers on my right leg between knee and ankle. Nurse has applied a dressing and think it’s psoriasis as I have PA and the stress of self isolation. I take 4x2.5 methotrexate once a week and daily folic acid.
I have found the winter months most challenging and lonely.

Yes, I was treated with Methotrexate for several years I kept my condition stabilized. , I had to have monthly blood tests to keep a close check making sure it wasn't creating more problems and checking on my inflammatory markers.

I've been taking methotrexate for over 20 years and I also take steroids (predniso. When I started taking methotrexate my flare ups were greatly reduced.

This all sounds familiar. It’s been 2.5 years of them trying to figure out what’s wrong with me…. I’ve had so many tests, mri’s, CT’s, blood work, bone density, cortisone injections, pills upon pills ( about 20 a day now), estrogen patches… it never ends! I hurt everywhere and I’m only 55. Non stop back pain, joint pain, chest pain, abdominal pain, numb and tingling limbs, head aches, burning soles of my feet, vision is getting worse by the day. Can’t sleep, brain fog, can’t focus on anything. Since I was introduced to CBD capsules for fibro my life hasn't been the same anymore thanks [This content has been moderated by an administrator]

Have you already been treated by methotrexate for your Rheumatoid Arthritis?
If yes, tell other patients about your experience: what dosage were your prescribed, whether you have had any side effects, etc.
Thank you in advance for your feedback!
