@JosephineO ... Thank you for adding me to this discussion and for the links in it.
These I am sure we will all find helpful.
I've had a lot of pain with my lower back (osteoporosis) and neck recently, and have a doctor's appointment this week. I will discuss this all with him and request a stronger pain killer if possible.
The only thing I find helpful at night is the use of a hot water bottle.
Once I've investigated the links, I'll come back to you with more comments.

@the-demi-god Thank you for all your advice and I'll look into some of your remedies... Will also be speaking to the doctor on Friday and ask him for stronger medication! I'll keep you posted on whether any of your effects of relieving pain helps. Keep well and have a good day.

Hi thank you for taking time to write back
I’ve found out that the lump I had wasn’t lymphoma from Brest cancer but is cancer
a lump which has been growing a year on my neck which has travelled to the bottom of my neck
iv been in chronic pain for a year and now on chemo
but iv found a great pain killer wild lettuce leaf tincture is amazing
as iv bone cancer too and it’s in my liver now
so if you in pain the tincture is fabulous and cvs oil
