Absolutely! A short statement that folk can understand and empathise with you. When I was able to walk without sticks people were under the impression that everything was tickets boo. Little did they know the struggle I was still having. As I looked ok, ergo I was ok.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis,OArthritis, ankolising spondolising in my spine,my come spine is riddled with it even the top of my neck. I fell over three maybe four years ago and broke my ankle and i am so afraid of falling again.To add to my misery i have fibro and CFS and i have no energy,and the fatigue is killing me. With the fibro i have memory loss as well. I can do very little these days sadly and my hubby who is tens years older than me has to take care of me.

Having had an enormous number of accidents in my life, due mainly to balance problems, which were never diagnosed until it was too late! Nevertheless, I am "proud" and make up excuses why I can't climb stairs such as..."I have had an accident so am struggling to get upstairs at the moment".
Now clearly that is true, but I know that people will assume the accident was recent, rather than back in 1988! Can we please debate whether fellow 'sufferers' believe this is the best way to deal with these mobility issues or not?
