@mr chipps... Thank you. I'm not apprehensive at all and look forward to getting the 2nd vaccination over and done with.
I know I'll be a lot happier knowing that I've got more protection from the 2nd dose. I will let you know if any side effects.
Roll on tomorrow!

Hope everyone stays healthy, and have no side effects from the vaccines, Trouble brewing in our hospitals over the vaccines ..... Suspected clot after vaccine not reported by Irish hospital
Posted by Tim Jackson | Jun 1, 2021 | Featured Picks, Irish News.
A man rushed to hospital two hours after taking the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has said he is frustrated that hospitals are not required to report adverse vaccine reactions to the proper regulatory authority.
The patient, who was informed he had a suspected clot in his lung, was told by staff at Mayo University Hospital that it was not related to the injection, despite experiencing the severe chest pains within two hours of taking it.
Both the man and this reporter were then told by a nurse manager the day after his discharge that he had not actually suffered a clot, despite being put on blood thinners, but that the adverse reaction was possibly caused by the vaccine.
When asked who the incident would be reported to, the nurse manager could only state that a discharge letter would be sent to the patient’s GP.
A follow-up call to the ward this week resulted in a deputy nurse manager informing the patient and this reporter that the hospital was not under any legal obligation to report any adverse reaction to the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA).
Furthermore, the patient would have to issue a ‘freedom of information request’ in order to read his notes and clarify exactly what he suffered.
“How could the HSE know the real number of serious negative vaccine reactions if outcomes like mine are not being reported by hospitals?” the patient remarked to Gript.
“I didn’t know the HPRA even existed until a friend asked whether the hospital mentioned them, which they didn’t once.
“It appears to me, whether they know it or not, the HSE and HPRA don’t have even close to a full picture of the number of adverse reactions to the vaccines they say are safe.
“I almost died from it, so it’s time the HSE started taking the negative reactions a bit more seriously.”
The HSE did not confirm at the time of publication whether a hospital or staff are under any legal obligation to report a patient’s adverse reactions to a vaccine, whilst Mayo University Hospital did not respond when asked if they had a policy concerning the issue of reporting.

When I was invited for my vaccine by letter, there was a section in the letter that stated that it would be my responsibility to report any adverse side effects and instructions on how to do it. That is all I can say

@whitecross1955... I agree with @nineteen_gale... I've just had my 2nd Covid vaccine and was told long before the 1st that it was my responsibility to report any side effects if troublesome.
The patient is responsible and even when having both vaccinations, the GP told me to report anything major within 4 to 7 days!
As usual, rumours spread and make it worse for those that need to make a decision on whether to have the vaccination.

I'm happy to say I've had my 2nd.
On 1st June they would not do the vaccine, as I had some health issues which needed clarification from my GP first. I was immediately given a doctor's appointment face to face on 2nd June 2021 (yesterday) to discuss my health situation.
I now have blood pressure monitoring for 3 weeks due to high blood pressure after 3 readings. I'm also booked in for full blood tests ASAP.
Whilst at the practice yesterday, I was pushed forward for my 2nd Covid vaccination as my GP said 'the sooner the better'! I waited 5 seconds and was given the AZ 2nd dose.
The service given by my GP's practice was impeccable and they had the common sense not to inject me without clarification first, then pushed me forward so I wouldn't have to go back again. I cannot fault the excellent service given.
In the meantime, I was given appointments for 3 weeks ahead for blood pressure monitoring and blood tests.
It annoys me when people run down the hospitals, doctors, nurses and the NHS. They've provided wonderful service during all my time with them.
After the vaccination yesterday, I was drained and exhausted but going to bed early certainly helped. Today I have a sore arm, and am slightly tired but that's to be expected.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day today.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
