Hi new to this forum and thanks for being here
History of total hip, last year total knee—i have osteo all over but the latest is in the hands and fingers I’m real active looking forward to hand exercises from PT doc is talking about joint surgery but will eval in 6 months
so conflicting information— baby your hand ie adaptation tools, massage, avoid strenuous stuff, yet PT says squeeze rubber balls, etc seems to stress the hands…hmmm what do you think?

I have Osteoarthritis in my back I started having injection ( in Preston) I live in Carlisle , had them for about 3 years then they suddenly stopped. With pain getting worse I was referred to the MSK clinic at hospital after numerous tests & scan I was told I had it in my left knee & the pain in my back was coming from my knee!!!! More tests x-rays MRI scans then physio various knee supports. First consultant I saw was in 2017. then another one same year I am still seeing a consultant & now need l total knee replacement. I was finally put on a waiting list last year in October I am at the end of my tether with pain I can barely walk or exercise I can’t go out as the is just unbearable & it gives way . I feel my life is on hold. I feel very frustrated at the fact this a redicoulous situation to be in to wait almost 7 years to get surgery. I phoned his secretary to see how far I was on the list her reply was ohh be a year. I have had a pre op assessment now ( after I phoned ) consultant said 6 months anyone in this situation !!!!!!

@Nanaclaire Thinking of you during this time. 7 years is ridiculous and it makes me wonder how you have coped so long! It seems the less one complains, the longer one waits for treatment and action. I've learnt not to just accept what the doctor says but to push for a result. I'm waiting to see a new neurologist and told that I could wait forever, but am prepared to wait 6 to 9 months before taking it further.

I am having problems with my left foot since having a cheilectomy 17 years ago which informed me of the arthritis in it. I have stinging pain underneath my toes.
I wouldn't be surprised if I will need another operation in case the metal plate needs replacing.
Plus I have arthritis in my right foot too so it's frustrating when I want to walk for hours and can't due to the pain.

Osteoarthritis is the most form of arthritis and it most commonly occurs in the spine, hands, hips, knees and spine.
Where does your osteoarthritis affect you? Is it just one location or several?
Please let us know and share your experiences:)
