Hi @meg1963
I'm sorry you are feeling so down. Please reach out and get help - if you need someone to talk to, you can reach Samaritans 24/7. Your doctor may also be able to help you work through some of these feelings.
If you're looking for more of a community, other Carenity members have shared How to cope with depression You are not alone in the struggles of life- people have pasts- but they also have futures and you do to. You are enough, you matter, and people love you.
Take care of yourself,
Lizzi

Please reach out. Chronic pain and fatigue is tough and very isolating. Having similar health issues and different family and work ones but it isn't about comparing notes. A starting point may be to find others with a similar experience who can help to share their (our) own management methods - personally I found that really helps. Many friends have drifted since I've been too unwell to real life socialise, more drifted when I got married, there are still a few (and my spouse who is overseas for almost a year) who keep in contact online, that means a lot to me. Working effectively as lead income earning in the family when alone and unwell is a huge struggle that does encourage negative thought, so I try to consider the positives and hope for the future. At the same time I'd be a liar to say there aren't times when the negative thoughts overwhelm.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
