That's a strange one, I have never heard of that before, are you sure it is a twitching in your rib and not fluttering underneath ?
I get what seems to be a fluttering, as though my heart may be racing but my heart isn't doing anything different it lasts for a few minutes and then disappears until the next time.
Hope you find an answer
love light and peace

Hey Prue,
That's an interesting question, You might be on to something there , I too suffer from both constipation and bladder problems, having an abdominal Hysterectomy in 2012, and I have only noticed it since my surgery. I am going to keep an eye out now and see if I find any correlation with mine.
I suppose it could be the intestine twitching to try and push matter though? or the bloating that constipation causes like a balloon effect and maybe pushing things up towards the heart so makes the beating a little more noticeable, what you think ?. sounds feasible, or along that note do you get any reflux ?, I had GERDS and that was caused by a weak stomach muscle allowing reflux, if it was only gas coming up I suppose it is like a little internal tummy fart. (Sorry it is the only way to describe it). when it happens to me my pulse and BP are Normal.
If you worried forget the label anxious and get it checked never mess around, I went to the GP several times and got told I was just depressed as I was really tired all the time and had no motivation, they medicated me and I went back and said I know that the medication can make you paranoid, but I am sure that I have a lump, and I did if I had just put it down to anxiety and paranoia I would have never found it.
Hope as crazy as this sounds it is of some help.x

Hi
Well fingers crossed now ive not had it for a few days but as i said theres no pain apert from the feeling of fulness from the ibs c,i just wish that everyone didn't have to put up anxiety and stress (i know some people feel a lot worse than others) as it holds you back from things in everyday life,i have good days and bad days too.
Wishing you the best of health x

Lynnmarie, just a thought, there is a condition of the Ribs called " Costochrondritis " its inflammation of the cartilage that is in between the ribs And breast bone (sternum). I had this a few years ago and is very painful.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
