Good Morning Wednesday. Welcome to the group. i am sure that you will benefit from joining. Check out my profile ;i suffer from osteoporosis and carpel tunnel syndrome, although I am not so sure about the latter as I think that the problems in my hands started after I misjudged the step down on to a pavement and basically face planted the pavement ;my hands took the brunt as there was no way was I letting go of my new M+S sandals purchased minutes before falling. !!! Sadly I broke my ankle in the process but the good thing?? was that I was on my way to my outpatients appointment at the hospital. Two jobs for the price of one!!! My bones all ache recently and I am feeling so old with it all but hey ho; onward and upward.
Have an amazing day. Don't be shy on here; you will get nothing but support from people who have first hand experience; plus some nutty people like me. They do say "Variety is the spice of life do they not?"
Take Care. x

Thanks itgetsbetter, lovely that others share their experiences with you. I hope to contribute when I can. Got a very poorly sister-in-law at the moment, so off to Wiltshire to see her.

Hi all,
I lifted a quite heavy weight 2 years ago and did my back in. Doctor diagnosed a slight slipped disc. It has never been the same and I still get terrible pain after doing housework.
I broke my tibia and fibula last summer - I only twisted my ankle on the beach! Had to have my leg pinned and plated. This was 5 days before my 60th birthday so not very nice. Osteoporosis in my spine, hips and thighs was diagnosed via a scan. My leg and back still hurt and I can't walk very far. I was told by a friend that osteoporosis is not painful well i disagree. Does anyone else have pain like this due to osteoporosis?

Hi Firefly, Like you I fell and broke my ankle. Osteoporosis was diagnosed.
I have trouble with my legs/feet. Osteoporosis is painful, the pains in my legs keeps me awake at times.
Standing up and actually walking is a slow process until I can get in to a rhythm .
Feel free to chat.
Big hugs.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

I am a newby so just introducing myself. I am 63 and suffer with osteoarthiris, Raynauds and Duputrens contracture ( I know sounds a weird condition). It means I have lumps in the palms of my hands and my fingers are now bending towards it. Arthritis of hands, shoulder and spine.
