@KPangela Hello KPangela, thank you for opening this discussion, I think this is a very interesting topic for our ladies living with lupus!
Hello all, how are you today? Evidence has suggested that oestrogren plays an important role in lupus for women, as we all know it does in menopause as well. Some women with lupus may even experience premature menopause!
How is or was menopause for you? What symptoms did you experience? Did or have you noticed any changes in your lupus flares during this period? Were they better, worse, as usual?

Feel free to share your experiences and advice here!
Take care,
Courtney

For me at the moment I find I'm aching a lot more than I used to. That's also with a combination of shielding, I'm still not going out a lot, and with the very recent developments, definitely not~ so I'm not getting as much exercise but I think perimenopausal is exacerbating everything.
Anger is a huge thing as well! Mood swings? Frustrating to hear news covid-19 related anyway! Add on family life with a teenager at college (ADHD. ADD). My lupus in general = perfect storm.
I'm just so very grateful to have a garden to sit in in to be able to listen to the birdsong, do my breathing exercises, plenty of mindfulness ~meditation and some amsr

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

My doctor doesn't like that word either I don't know about those of you who have lupus and are going to this as well.
I'm interested to find out your thoughts.
For me it's the anger lots of moods, I get very stressed very easily anyway so helpful tips on how to deal with that ~ apart from the deep breathing exercises meditation mindfulness?
I'm trying to stick with it...
