Hello Marina S, nice to chat with you, I currently take Gliclazide and it is known for having effects on your weight, like makes you fat, as I was told by the hospital specialist doctor. I am currently taking 1+1/2 tablets twice a day. I think he thought that the gp would monitor me,,,well they have not been doing this,,,,and I don't rush there as the time things take annoys me,,I would hope that I could lower the dose,,,,and what do I do talk with the gp or just stop taking the extra half tablet,,,decisions, decisions, decisions, always needing to be taken.
I suppose I will have to grit my teeth and go to the gp,,,,,but getting an appointment is such a palaver and can definatley test the patience,,,,, I would like to do away with the gliclazide and just see how the metformin and the victoza work for me,,,,
I feel as though too many tablets for the condition seem to be over medicating,,,it seems like trial and error to get the best match and medication plan,,,, also with my other conditions and all their tablets,,,it is a juggling match. I use a web site which holds your medications and give back any indications, and any warnings which ones do not go with each other...and I must say some of the warnings do make me think I would be better off them,,,more research is needed and I may ask to go back to the hospital doctor,,,as I felt I was being watch and monitored in a better way.
Have a merry christmas and a happy new year,,,,,and chat again with you, ttfn from Karen.
