You are amazing. Well done. I too have type two diabetis ,diet controlled. I am in my 70's and don't think I would be able to stick to it. I struggle to stick to my slimming world eating plan. I don't expect to be able to run any distance now, as my balance is not good. I admire your efforts totally and glad the paid off so well

Great article @GildaT continued success to the person who has contributed their story. I am T2 diabetes diagnosed myself which I control with diet and medication I began my diet initially by choosing to go gluten free gluten free in order to loose weight which has proved to be very successful for me as my weight is now at 80kgs down from a starting point of 96kgs now due to a diagnosis of Diverticulosis my diet is also meat free all of these conditions have came to be a part of me ever since I was initially diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis also followed closely by fibromyalgia all of this has taken a huge toll on my body's ability to to endure exercise other than the occasional burst on my recumbent exercise bike but in general terms I'm happy with my progress.

My problem is that because of various other digestive health problems as well as serious asthma I am on a fairly limited diet and exercise is hard .I am due to start a pulmonary rehab exercise program so hope that will help and I might then look at this again but for the time being I don't think it's suitable for meb

Having read up more I decided to try reducing the carbs I ate by cutting out sandwiches ,made with flu free bread , cutting down on potatoes, pasta and adjusting as much as I could within what I could eat the fruit I ate that sort of thing I didn't do anything drastic but have had a nightmare with it , my blood sugar levels have fallen slightly but I have felt really groggy , having no energy , my asthma has been worse , my hernia has decided to remind me that it's still there and yesterday I was really dizzy and felt faint . I shall go back to my normal diet but just cut back on portion sizes a bit
