Hey @fourwinds How are you?
Thank you for starting this discussion! I think it's a very interesting topic to talk about, I will tag some members who might be interested to share their thoughts! Have you tried support groups for people with COPD or consulting with a doctor about your preoccupations?

How has your journey with COPD been lately? Do you use an oxygen tank or oxygen concentrator? What is it like to live with oxygen therapy?
Take care,

Good luck getting a decent system, when Covid scare started because the world was ending I went to considerable lengths to get such equipment for my wife who has COPD and Asthma. I looked at bottled oxygen from British oxygen, we banned by Law in having in our homes unless arranged by a Doctor. I bought various kits and bottles of oxygen spending hundreds of pounds. Threw them all in the bin and settled for my wife's CPAP device on stanby in daytime use, they do come on Ebay occasionally second hand. But at the end of the day we are no longer trusted as civillians, perhaps if you are at genuine threat your GP maybe the best option.
Those kits offered online were pretty useless so I would not waste your money, go see your GP if struggling!

Hi @robjmckinney! I hope you are feeling well today.
Do you know why bottled oxygen is banned?

@Polina.K Medical oxygen is only allowed to be supplied with a doctor's prescription, that is trying several suppliers in the UK. It is very inflammable and must be the right dose/level, so again us thick public cannot be trusted in the UK. So due to the lack of intelligence of us Brit's we can't get oxygen so easy. Even the GPs won't issue under the NHS umbrella very easily, though there is clear benefits from the use of oxygen as the right level!

@Somya.P Well after reading the technical details of oxygen concentrator it may well be suitable as the government has banned public access to oxygen. Since it simply filters out Nitrogen mainly allowing more oxygen to be consumed. The NHS seem to imply they should decide again to supply a machine but they are freely available online from a few hundred pounds. As my wife's COPD/Asthma etc. gets worse it may be worth a look at, but there is plenty of junk online getting the right one might be a challenge!

I have been using concentrators for a month and find it eases my breathing . I am advised to be on it for 16 hours a day which I find very restricting - how many hours do other users find ok?

hello-
Does any one here use an oxygen tank or oxygen concentrator?
My condition is worsening and I want to know what it's like to live with oxygen therapy.
