Hi everyone, I am a new member today, I have been put on long term oxygen therapy, 15 hours per day, about 6 weeks ago. I have experienced slight nosebleeds in the morning trying to clear a stuffy nose after overnight oxygen (9 hours), maybe blowing too hard! I am using a nasal cannula overnight but am going to try a face mask for a week or so to see if there is any difference. The nosebleeds are not really a problem, more of a nuisance to be honest, but I could do without them first thing in the morning!
I'll come back here and post the result in a couple of weeks, regards to everyone.

Hey everyone,
How are you all doing today?
As many of you may already know, individuals with COPD often need oxygen therapy, especilly in advanced stages of the disease or during complications, in order to improve oxygen levels in the blood, help with symptoms such as shortness of breath, and enhance the overall quality of life. However, the frequency of oxygen use can vary depending on the severity of one's condition and their specific medical needs. Some may require continuous oxygen, while others may only need it during certain activities or periods of the day.
For those of you who require oxygen for extended periods, have any of you experienced nosebleeds, for example, when blowing your nose? This could possibly be due to having the tubes in your nostrils for prolonged periods.
Are any of you aware of alternative methods or equipment that could help reduce the risk of nosebleeds while still effectively delivering oxygen?
