Well Sonya it’s a Long Story…..I come from a Big Family, im one of 12,my Father is one of 11 and my Mother is one of 10 (Irish). My Mother and Fathers Family have Suffered Numerous Cancers and Osreoarthris symptoms over the Years and Early Deaths, too many to Mention, but always puzzled me why it was so Consitent and Regular. But the Acromegaly was Started in a Conversation I had one Day with my Father just in Passing, talking about his Grandad and Grandmother, he Mentioned his Granny was Near 7ft. Now I asked my Mum and she Lived on the Same Street as his Granny and although she Never Knew her Well said she was a Big Tall Lady. Now my Theory is This my Father was a Young boy When his Grandmother Died and as we are Builders, a Head Height of a Door is 6ft 6,but I think back in them Days They Where Smaller, but she used to have to Duck under Door When She Came In. My Father was 14lb at Birth and I was 12lb 2oz, I Was of Small Stature and Had a Late Puberty than other Boys at School. But My Hands Grew Where my Ring Finger is Z3 and I Developed a Protruding Jaw Like Bruce Forsyth which had to be Corrected by Surgery as it affected my Bite,I was also very Hairy on my Back and Shoulders, and Had Numerous Anger Problems and Unsociable Traits. I was Diagnosed with Low Testosterone Secondary Hypogonadism, and Have Had MRI But no Tumour found on Pituitary, so waiting on Blood Tests to See Where the Source is Coming From,I might be Completely Wrong but my Eldest Son is Just Like me and My Dad,along with the Problems so the Diagnosis is For My Children and Grandkids if it’s Congenital or Familial .

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and personal story. I'm so sorry you and your family have had to deal with so many health issues. It's great that you're seeing the connections and already taking action to find out more. We can see how much you care about your children and their future health. Hopefully, the tests will provide clarity and answers soon, getting a concrete diagnosis could make a world of difference for both you and your son’s quality of life. Please keep us updated, and feel free to reach out if you need any support during this journey.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Acromegaly can lead to so many symptoms that impact your daily life: joint pain, headaches, fatigue, physical changes…
Each person experiences this condition differently and learns to adapt based on their symptoms.
What challenges do you face in your daily life because of acromegaly? Have you found any tips for managing certain symptoms? How do you manage to maintain a good quality of life despite everything?
