@Polina.K I have had "issues" with my lower spine since I was 21 (I'm now 63). Each episode got worse, until at 32 I had to have emergency surgery to alleviate numbness from my waist downwards to my toes. I had an L5/S1 laminectomy and discectomy then, which alleviated some of the numbness, leaving me with the back of my right leg without feeling, but it relieved the rest of it. As time has gone on, I have slowly started having problems with the rest of my spine and discovered that I have the gene which causes Ankylosing Spondylitis; although doctors and so called speciaists are reluctant to diagnose it, even though I have classic symptoms. A recent scan shows that I have severe degeneration of my discs, have stenosis and bone spurs in my neck and lower back and a slight curve to the middle of it. I take high end painkillers and have other joint issues, yet no-one will tell me that I have anything except osteoarthritis/wear and tear due to age! I've been like it since I was young!

@YorkshireJayne
Thank you so much for your advice. I shall follow up on it. There are other problems l experience to do with “below the waist “ but they have been put down to my age. I am now 64 & l no longer socialise due to that problem. For years l have told them of my “accidents “ but l get its your age. Years ago l had a camera inserted in to my bladder but the only thing they found was l have 3 kidneys lol. I have asked to be referred to a department that deals with bladder/ bowel problems but 6 months later l am still waiting.

@Mandy59 Please do, once PALS get involved, you should get the help you need pretty quickly! Three kidneys? That's just greedy LOL Seriously though, I hope you get sorted out soon. As I said, I'n 63 and have had problems for a long time, but never with my bladder until I've reached this age, mine has been attributed to the fact that one kidney retains a spoonful of urine each time I go. I've never had problems holding it back, not even when I had two children or when I went numb, must be strong muscles!

@YorkshireJayne
l too have two children & never had problems after having them with my bladder.
l can feel l need to go but then get pain & all it’s all stations go. 🙄 When l am at home l can cope but when l am at the hospital for my 6 monthly infusion treatment l have constant stress about it. After being examined l have been told it’s my age, weight, l will admit as l have got older l have got a little chubby, or it’s been blamed on my mobility. I never imagined l would be a prisoner in the loo at this age.
Thanks again for your advice . Take care & have a good day 😊
