We have been on the Wahls Paleo plus diet for 18 months ever since Sue had a bad fatigue attack. Dr Wahls has SPMS but has modified her MS so much that she has gone from a wheel chair to cycling and walking. What is all the more encouraging is that she is a specialist in MS and has devised this diet and written several books including The Wahls Protocol which we have bought and use.
Sue's health has dramatically improved. Her Type 2 diabetes symptoms have disappeared. I've lost 2 stone in weight. We strongly recommend the diet.. It means giving up gluten [wheat], dairy, potatoes, rice, pasta and all processed foods. We substitute sweet potato, coconut milk, cauli rice, loads of veg, and smoothies. We have a spiraliser and make veg spaghetti from hard veg. Lasagne with courgette strips, veg crisps in the oven and fresh fruit salad for puddings. We love it and hope this helps.

When you read the statistics, 1 in 2, will get cancer, diabetes and obesity are on the rise. There are more dietary problems than ever. The hunter gatherer tribes do not have these problems. What can we learn from them? The paleo diet.

I agree with Martyn.
I tried the Wahls Protecol Paleo plus a couple of years ago after seeing Dr Terry Wahls' Ted Talk on Youtube. I stuck to the diet strickly for about 8 months, and was amazed when most of my symptoms disappeared almost entirely. Then Christmas/New Year came along so I slipped back into the bad old ways....and then due to a very stressful/emotional year I've been eating a lot of comfort food & stuff that is quick (although I do try to stay gluten/diary free as much as poss). Now all my old symptoms are back and some!
So it's back to the Walhs Protectol for me - I've just re-started. Last time I started to feel a difference after 6/8 weeks and the big difference was after 3/4 months so I'm hoping that come the New Year I be back on track. I have to say that I've never felt hungry while on the Wahls diet and I did lose a lot of weight last time (about 1.5 stone).
Btw, I've been Googling recently about the benefits of camel milk/donkey milk for all sorts of things related to auto-immune conditions such as MS, does anyone know anything about this?

@Courtney_J In reading about MS for my sister I've seen the "Swank diet" thrown around a lot. I don't know if it helps significantly. My sister just tried to eat fewer calories since she's not as active anymore and she tries to eat a healthy diet with lots of fruit and veg.

Maintenance of general good health is very important for people with any chronic disorder: a well-balanced and planned diet will help achieve this goal. Although there's no special “MS diet,” what and how you eat can make a difference in your energy level, bladder and bowel function, and overall health.
Do you consider your diet healthy enough? Is there anything you avoid eating?
Share your eating habits with us, and maybe someone will find a piece of advice on his or her diet.
Thanks!
Margarita
