I cannot remember how long ago i was told but more than 15yrs. It took months rather than weeks.each visit was repeated.' Walk dont just sit'i am a very aware i must do for myself.as im now in my late 70s,my energy to do is way less.with other conditions.osteoarthritis.severe depression.etc.some i manage, some i need pain relief.im on my own now so my day is what it is.once im up.my gardens have saved me.outside in the daylight.wonderful.pain disappears for a while.it will get worse as i get older i will hopefully manage.

It was about 22 yrs ago and it was go to see my GP every fortnight for 3 or 4 months keeping a diary to take with me describing my pain rating it 1 to 10, 10 being severe which I was usually between 5 and 10 and from time to time had to stand whilst getting touched on certain parts of the body which most occasions put me through the roof with pain and trust me the GP was barely touching me. My reports were being sent to a specialist and eventually was l had fibromyalgia and was amazed at how many other things going on like IBS ect were all part of the fibro.

Hello everyone
How are you doing? 😊
Getting a diagnosis for fibromyalgia can be a real challenge for both patients and doctors. This condition is often diagnosed through a process of elimination, after ruling out other illnesses with similar symptoms. 😕
The widespread pain, chronic fatigue, and sleep disturbances can be confusing, causing many patients to go through a long period of uncertainty before finally receiving a clear diagnosis. On top of that, the lack of awareness and training among some healthcare professionals can worsen the situation, delaying appropriate care and support.
How long did it take for you to get a fibromyalgia diagnosis? What difficulties did you face with doctors during this period of uncertainty? What tests or exams did you undergo before fibromyalgia was identified?
