Hi I am on the same patches but on 30mg a hour, 1 every 7 days. Been on that dose for 2 years now but it has started to slow down the pain relief so I am not getting the benefit no more. I too have trouble with my skin leaves square marks all over me and I itch all the time where the patch is, I am hoping to get some sort of tablet and get rid of patches.

The brutran patches also come in tablet form. I know this as was in hospital have an op on my jaw. I was given oral morphine in theatre and once when back in day care. This didn't work and as they were trying to get the pain under control, they called the pain team. When they realised what had happened to the patches I was put on the tablet instead but had to stay overnight so that they could keep an eye on me. I came out the next day. If the patches are burning you, ask for the tablet form xx

I was on Butrans but not strong enough so have been on fentynal/duogesic (morph) skin patches a few years now. I have Fibro and ME and can't actually walk without them. So easy to apply lasts 3 days xx

Hi
Ive just been to a pain clinic at my local hospital only to be told that im on the best regimine of medications already and that theres pretty much nothing they can do. I used to be on tramadol but had to stop using them because of the severe side affects i was having (vomiting and dizziness). Now i take co-codamol. Im also on pregabalin, amitriptyline & venlafaxine. I think thats it for the pain. Clearly what im on isnt cutting it otherwise i wouldnt have been sent to the pain clinic. Ive also done the pain management course. Nothing is helping improve things. What can i do now? The pain clinic Dr wouldnt consider patches or anything like that. I dont know what to do. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

Kaz1960 I'm on different meds, I'm similar to Sam' s meds but I always have 2 days every 14 days but better than it was. Dr stopped a rheumatoid arthritis med and I was in bed 6 out of 7 days, basically sleeping my life away, nobody apart from OH obv she's me when I sleep, woken up for meds ditto Now back on meds and so much for me thinking they had no effect too. Keep our chins up, yeah I know it's hard
