Hello @Simonr3585, thank you for opening this discussion! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better as we transition into spring! Let me tag some other members who can discuss with you.
Hi everyone, how are you doing? Have you noticed that changing weather or seasons have an impact on your fibromyalgia? Does it make your fibro worse or better? Do you have more or fewer flares? How do you manage?

Yes I definitely have more pain when it's cold and damp. Ache from head to toe. I have an electric blanket and use that when I'm really aching.

100% worse in the winter months. I can't wait for the sun to come out. I've had more flares over the last year than in the previous 10 years in total.

I have trouble in both extremes when it's too hot in the summer and when it's too cold and damp in the winter.
@Beyondwords_uk Do you think you've had more flares because of the stress of COVID or because of the weather? I constantly feel pent up all the time with COVID (doing better now with the vaccine going so quickly) so it's done a number for me and my flares.

@MariaB Both, Stress probably causes more flares but the cold makes them feel worse.

Hi, yes I have noticed that flares do seem worse in the winter months and that the pain is harder to deal with.

Hello everyone
I've just been through my first winter with Fibro at least with it as bad as it has been in the last year and I am outdoors for a couple of hours most days on a mobitity scooter shopping and takin my dog out.
The pain has been bad with serious fatigue and body stiffness etc'.
My question is that since the weather has warmed up I don't feel anywhere near as awful as I had been. It's only been the past week.
Am I living in hope that the summer may not be as bad ?
Is anyone else affected by the change in weather ?
