Hi Katie - so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, and that of your brother too. But how wonderful you’ve had all your scans etc and will soon have treatment. It’s amazing how quick they work, despite the pandemic. I am truly grateful for our NHS at the moment as I’m also waiting for results of my breast cancer op and to start whatever they decide is best. It was found on a routine mammogram.
Try to be positive and I truly hope you will beat this rotten illness.
Take care xxx

Hello @Katie1958 and @Maryquitecontrary, thank you both for sharing with us. I know that waiting period for results or treatment decisions can be stressful.
For other members in our group, you did you find out that ou had cancer? Did you have any particular symptoms or was your cancer discovered during a routine check-up? How did you take the news?

Mine was found through a routine mammogram thank goodness, I hadn't felt anything and since the biopsy on 23 Aug, I've had tests, surgery and started chemo so have been really lucky with my treatment - not too many delays x

@Xxlisa
hi 👋 I was diagnosed with stage 1 on the 7th July and had my op on the 24th August. Thankfully it had not spread to the lymph nodes, I committed to a trial to which I got the results on the 13th October and do not have to have radiotherapy 😀 I’m on a drug for the next 5 years. I am now in remission. I have had a very positive attitude from day 1 and im sure this helped me considerably I am now in remission. Stay strong and think positive you will be fine xx

My breast cancer was found because I had a really bad chest infection so my general practitioner sent me for a ct scan the x ray picked up 2 abnormalities on both of my breasts the right breast was benign and they could drain but the right they had to do a mastectomy and that was in 2018 I am taking anastrozole and I had 6 weeks of radiotherapy but I have to have mammograms every yr and see a oncologist and breast surgeon for 9yrs I have gone 4 yrs in remission only 5 more to go Tigger

My brother was starting his first treatment for cancer. On the day i found a large lump on my neck /shoulderblade. This is how he found out he had cancer also. What are the odds of this. So terrified i contacted my doctor. They worked really fast and got me all the scans needed. Seen specialist yesterday to be told i had lung cancer. And lynthnode cancer. Im now waiting to hear what treatment im facing.
