Thank you for the interesting article on vaccines.
I hope other members will read this and realize they're not injected with 'all sorts' which is what some certainly believe. We have heard many rumors, but I don't regret the decision I made to have mine done, and can't wait for the 2nd on 1st June 2021.
I'd rather be protected and know I'm safe.

Efficacy is not the same as effectiveness.
Case study:
Vaccine A: Trialed with 20,000 people in the USA, 90% immunity from trial subjects, announced 90% efficacy.
Vaccine B: Trialed with 5000 people in the USA - 90% immunity; 5000 in Brazil - 80% immunity; 5000 in India - 80% immunity; 5000 in South Africa - 70% immunity. Total is 20,000 trial subjects with 80% efficacy.
Yet the tests aren't the same, the sample sizes are different and it is likely vaccine B is being tested against different strains than vaccine A. Trials are about proving safety as well as efficacy, with safety the priority. Efficacy is used as a 'headline rate' to compare vaccines, Side effects and duration of protection/future booster requirements are also constantly being reviewed.
The real numbers should be how effective in preventing serious symptoms, hospitalisation, and death. Then the effectiveness against each strain needs to be compared and this is a process that doesn't stop at any point with a constantly mutating virus.
Personally, I had my second AZ dose six hours ago, so far only mild side effects, first time the side effects were more dramatic but only really lasted two days.
UPDATE: Had a mild fever, slept it off, feel fine.

Hi there, I had my 2and Pfizer vaccine 10 days ago, despite still shaking off an allergic reaction lasting 2 weeks . I was hesitant but the doctor revealed they would not have another supply of Pfizer for some time! At that I threw caution to the wind and agreed to have the vaccine with no regrets! I experienced no side effects and am fully vaccinated, even to fight off the Indian variant, we are told on TV!

I'm 60 and have received numerous invitations from the NHS to have my Covid vaccine but I'm not having it. I feel none of the vaccines have been properly tested so I'm not comfortable with it. Maybe in 5 years time, I'll take a view on it. Too many ill effects from them all so far and I'm not willing to risk it. Herd Immunity will suffice for me.
I tested positive in February this year but I'm convinced I simply had a throat infection; I know my body and it grieved me having to take 10 days off work when I felt completely fine...and I lost £300 from my salary for the privilege!!

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
