@lesmal I have read on the nhs site that exercise is good for diabetes as it can help with insulin sensitivity, although the walk I do first thing is to make sure My levels are good before breakfast, then go for a longer walk in the afternoon, I was worried that I may get fined for doing this, but a lot of what people say, the police will not fine you even if you do go out twice for a walk, and now new legislation says that people with mental health and autism can go out for 2 or 3 exercises a day, I reckon that should have included diabetics and asthmatics, as exercise is also good for asthmatics

@JaneHewitt We have the Police doing patrols in our area but they are still respectful, pleasant and courteous. A friendly 'hello' or 'good morning' means so much. My husband is out walking with my little jack russell on a regular basis and has been greeted but with no questions asked by the Police. I am so grateful they keep a 'look out', and are helping to keep the crime away.
Luckily we have a small shop at a garage nearby where we can get essentials, but the Police haven't interfered during the process.
Keep well and stay strong!

@lesmal I take two exercises a day, but some people on some sites seem under the impression that I should be heavily fined and or imprisoned for doing it

@JaneHewitt ... I don't see a problem with your going out twice a day... Exercise is essential and as long as you aren't going miles away, then there shouldn't be any trouble with it.
We all have own own views on certain topics; let them say what they wish as long as you know you are abiding by certain rules.
Have a pleasant day!

Hello everyone,
You may have heard the term "social distancing" a lot lately in the news and on social media. To slow the spread of the Coronavirus through UK communities, the Prime Minister and the NHS are encouraging us to practise "social distancing" measures.
But what is social distancing, and how is it practised?
Social distancing is a public health practice that aims to keep the sick from coming in close contact with the healthy in order to reduce opportunities for disease transmission. This can include large-scale efforts like closing public spaces or cancelling group events, or smaller-scale decisions that individuals make such as avoiding crowds.
In the context of COVID-19, the objective of social distancing is to slow down the pace of the outbreak so as to lower the chance of infection among high-risk populations and to reduce the burden on healthcare systems and workers.
Social distancing in the context of the Coronavirus can be defined as: "remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 2 metres) from others when possible."
In addition to physical distance, proper hand-washing is crucial for protecting not only yourself but others around you, because the Coronavirus can be spread even without signs of symptoms.
In recent days, many actions have been taken by cities, businesses, organisations and other authorities to encourage social distancing, like:
What about you?
What do you think about social distancing? Have you tried it yourself yet? Do you have any tips for others on how to make it more enjoyable?
Feel free to share below!
Take care,
Courtney
