@mr chipps... Thank you for your wishes which are much appreciated. My telephone consultation with my Neurologist is on 11th May... I only hope he now has my results from March and can recommend a new medication/form of treatment for my epilepsy.
God bless your daughter; I hope her epilepsy is well controlled and that she is able to live a normal life.

Hi Lesmal
ii I know that Epilepsy can sometimes be frightening, both the the person living with it and those around you ? i only witnessed my daughter having a siezure once and felt completely helpless i hope that the consultant can help you with medications?
my daughter believes that her Epilepsy has gone, but from what doctors have told me , it is incurable? my daughters was caused by trauma to her head, when she was born by Cessarian section and the cord was wrapped around her head damaging the brain? . her body would not engage in the birth canal . i have now been informed that she isbi-polar, so this could be connected with the trauma at her birth?
i am waiting to find out if the Medical Gastroenterologist will seem e in person to discuss my acid reflux and 2 hernias in my stomach and chest?
take care and stay safe and Well . Keith

@nineteen_gale I will continue to wear a face mask to protect myself and others. Regardless of being vaccinated or not, which is a personal choice, we can all carry covid and not know (asymptomatic)) therefore we can all potentially be spreaders.
I feel it is more wise to continue mask wearing. We all know they are not the most comfortable to wear and cause spots or flair up of eczema, glasses steam up etc. I have tried various and highly recommend a silk one, far more comfortable to wear.

I had my first vaccine on 29th January, started with Covid symptoms on 3rd February test proved positive, second vaccine on 20th March. Now I'm dealing with the after effects of Covid. Will I still wear my mask?.....definitely yes.

Why wear a mask with all those badly affected by Covid are now vaccinated, there is no reason to wear one. The government claim massive protection from the vaccine, is there really a need for further testing, except in respect hospital stays. Israel have released their statistics showing the vaccine has done the job, not mass testing or masks. So the evidence points correctly that masks and mass testing is a waste of time. The test centers around the country are for the most part not being used leading to many closures. The only threat to the UK is really from abroad where the disease is rampant so restrictions remain in place.

i dont care what RobjMckinley thinks, i am intelligent enough to make my own decisions, i also know my own medical history and what would happen if ic aught covid19 and that is that it would kill me, my doctors agrees with me and told me when he was giving me the 2nd jab
as far as i am concerned i will not take any notice of anyone, except the medical professionals, as theyre the experts. stay safe and well everyone and remember its your health and your responsibility to look after yourselves

Firstly did absolutely everyone get vaccinated in Israel?
The mask is to protect oneself and others. Anyone vaccinated or not can carry covid and be asymptomatic.
There are illegal immigrants constantly coming into the country bringing who knows what germs. In fact TB has increased because of them. People travel around the world so covid can be rampant agaun at anytime with a new variant.
Personally I feel some do not take this serious enough, maybe if catching this only had a 20% survival rate, people would take it more seriously. Covid is no joke and people can be seriously ill and die, others can be left with long covid which for many is a life changer.
So yes Masks should be worn when shopping etc
We cannot compare ourselves to other countries.

My attitude I do not want to be "the one" who gets it and in a coma for months on life support, dies or has long covid.
I am vigilant crossing a road to keep safe, that applies to keeping myself safe from covid.
So yes Masks should be worn when shopping etc

Yes it is interesting but the facts are quite simple, the average age from dying in the UK has been 81 years old and no doubt other illness were the main factor of death. A mere 500 of under 40s died from Covid, the vast majority had underlying conditions that killed them together with Covid. We now have vaccinated the vast majority who are likely to be seriously affected by Covid and evidence is that hospital stays are no longer a major issue, the NHS no longer under threat.
The future concerns are that in addition to our Flu jab, it will have an Covid element to boost our immunity and deal with new varients. So the usual yearly slaughter by the Flu has been controlled and Covid will just be an extension of that, also controlled. We still have 6,000 plus deaths each year from the Flu, down from a 30,000 average just a few years ago. We will still catch the Flu but its effects will be much reduced, Covid will just be similar in the future.
The deathrate from Covid is not that great compared to real killer diseases roaming round the 3rd world. Yes through vaccination we got rid of TB here but it is rampant in the Indian Sub continent. But the are plenty of diseases the media now report in the 3rd world with a 80% deathrate not low single figure of Covid. Look at Covid in India, the deathrate is similar to the UK but they have 1.3 billion people so it is all on a bigger scale but no worse. Israel has a 90 odd percent take up of the vaccine, except of course if you are Palestinian. Their evidence states that masks or testing has been irrelevant, it is the widespread use of the vaccine that resolved issues there.
Both my wife and myself plus wider family now we are all vaccinated shall be disposing of our masks as soon as it is legally possible. We are both in the clinically vulnerable group and would have likely died if we had got Covid. But it is over, we are more likely to die of our other medical issues at this time. There is no point, the threat to others by not wearing a masks irrelevant. Those who are vulnerable are now protected, the Covid threat has been reduced to little more than the treat from the annual Flu season. People are not needing hospital treatment for the disease, so the NHS is safe, I would question whether it has ever been. It is time for the country to get back to work, the vast majority of the young people are unaffected by Covid anyway.
I am looking forward to the resturants opening and enjoying my holiday. The risk from me carrying the disease and passing it onto others has been confirmed as very low by the government and experts. Those who I meet will be already vaccinated or Covid won't affect them, job done, well done government. Stay safe!

I agree with @mr chipps and also @Lottie67 regarding the use of masks before and after being vaccinated.
We have many illegal immigrants also arriving in UK and Northern Ireland. Every time I visit the city, I see more foreigners walking around with no masks or any form of protection whatsoever. Our bus drivers query those getting on public transport without shields and/or masks. They know the rules, so they should be followed, unless they have an 'exempt from wearing a mask' lanyard as proof.
TB is also more widely spread now as many come from Africa etc, as refugees and take up asylum. We now have the Indian variant spreading in UK and Northern Ireland, together with the South African one and others.
Logic and common sense is also required when it comes to washing hands, sanitising, and distancing.
Already we have more increased new cases of Covid daily in certain regions of Northern Ireland where the younger people are affected because of overcrowding, partying and lifting of lockdown, ie opening of shops, restaurants for take away and bars!

I've been thinking about this since I had my first jab 3 weeks ago.![emoticon pill](/static/themes-v3/default/javascripts/vendor/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/pill.png)

The disadvantages ~ facial expressions can't be seen (although this also has its positives), can't can't smell candles, new perfume etc. Saying that though it it's not compulsory this isn't really a major problem.
