Welcome on-board Michael_B as our new UK Community Manager and simultaneously wishing both yourself and Josephine the utmost possible health and happiness. I'm Ann, a 68 yr old Anglo-American. Have had osteoarthritis since my early 20's and developed MS when 27 yrs old; only recognising and being formally diagnosed when I was almost 62 when my multitudinous symptoms exacerbated and became "unremitting", although can still experience "flares". Also have degenerative disc disease (L1-S2) and recently diagnosed with partial LBBB (Left Bundle Branch Block), a cardiac condition + "leaky" aortic and mitral valves (2 other {minor?} cardiac conditions. My husband, 5 years younger than myself, had prostate cancer (aggressive but "controlled") passed away in March this year from sepsis, the source being discitis, a condition that only affects 2 in 1 million individuals. Being a retired Registered Nurse and Health & Social Care Lecturer/Assessor, try to always be "available" to help/support others but totally dependent on my unpredictable energy levels.

Hi Michael,
I am a pensioner a 79 who lives on his own, no dependents, no contact with anyone. I suffer from IBS, muscular aches and pains, and feel extremely bored most of the time. The only joy that I try to pursue whem I am feeling up to it is to go to the gym once a week. I am Turkish by birth. Live in the UK. (Cambridge). I wish you good luck with your new appointment.!

Hi Michael
I am Carole and although I have ostioarthritis , after having two hip replacements I am very fit for my age(78) . I am fortunate not to need medication and exercise and swim regularly.
Best wishes to all . If you can exercise as much as you can it does help.
Carole

Hello Michael B.,
I am a 5x laid off worker ,thank you Obama, who just discovered I have Diabetes 2 + foot ulcer + 2 cm kidney stone, bleeding stomach ulcer, stomach hernia and charkot ankle. Glad to help out if any questions /issues regarding any of these. Interested in people's experience in number of visits to specialists. It seems I have too many visits with little accomplished with each visit!
Puzzled,
Stanley

Hi Micheal, Thank you for your invitation to write a few words. Good to read you are settling into your new role. Over the time I have been on Carenity I have found the comments and observations of other people with health problems very interesting. I have contributed where I have been able too and hope that some of my comments on the site have been helpful to others. I think it is a valuable avenue for others to get reassurance and guidance from others experiences. May this site help many other people with the many health problems that exist in the world today.

Hello members,
Over the last year I have really enjoyed being your Community Manager. You have all inspired me with your stories of strength facing your different conditions and you have opened my mind through reading your discussions.
It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to you all. I wish you all the very best going forward and I hope you all continue using Carenity and finding it a useful support tool.
It’s my pleasure to introduce Michael who will be moderating the UK forum from here on out. Be sure to give him a hearty welcome and don’t hesitate to contact him with your questions or concerns.
Much love,
Josephine
