Hello everyone!
How's it going with you today? 😊
Many people with multiple sclerosis (MS) experience sudden, sharp nerve pains, often called “zingers” or “stingers.” ⚡
These sensations—ranging from burning, stabbing, or prickly feelings to electric shocks—can appear without warning. Known medically as dysesthesia, these painful sensations are caused by nerve damage linked to MS and typically affect areas like the legs, feet, arms, and hands. For some, even temperature changes (warm or cold) can trigger these zaps, which usually last seconds to minutes.
Do you experience these sudden MS zingers? How do you manage them? Have you noticed any specific triggers?
