The last couple of months have been a blur really. Ex-hubby is 64 years of agae and has had several tests including a CT scan and was told some weeks he has got a lump on his lung, he had his 2nd CT scan a couple of weeks ago and it showed the lump had got bigger. Hubby told the consultant he knows hes got a lump on his lung and the consultant said, yes you have, it has got bigger and it is Asbestos. Then hubby went last Monday 4/7/16 to have ENT test as he is having problems with his throat and fluid pumping up and choking him. After test, hubby was told there is no Cancer in the throat ( which is one good thing to know it hasn't spread to his throat) but, he knows the lump is there and the fluid is being caused by his Heart. Hubby has now got an emergency Appointment for the Cardiologist 25/7.16. Hubby has also got a mass on his Brain, don't know if that is related to the Asbestos or not yet, more tests to be done...
Hubby worked on building sites when he was young (under age really) to get extra money for his family (before we were together) And when we got together hubby worked on cars fixing new brake pads and other parts that has Asbestos ect...All work done without any protection because no-one knew about Asbestos in the early days or what it could do to a person.

When I was a child I used to help my mum making gas Mantels. They had Asbestos particals. We also lived in prefabs when I was young for years and during the 1960 too and Prefabs had Asbestos in them too. There are still a few prefabs around here in the UK.
When Ex-hubby worked on cars, I used to wash his clothes not knowing then about the Asbestos until some years later. We both have C.O.P.D. and wondering if its the Asbestos that has helped to caused it.
Its all a worry!
