I have to say that I'm absolutely amazed since I bought a couple of new pillows for my bed, I find that I'm getting a great nights sleep for the most part.
When I was in the store I made a choice that I wasn't going to do what I had always done and buy the best value in other words the cheapest pack so I went to look for the more expensive ones I could find and I'd check the quality, I'm very pleased with the ones I've got they are well worth the money I've paid for them, I always slept on two pillows now I only use one the other one is for sitting up in bed.

Hey,
I have just been put on Amitriptyline, for pain and sleep as my neurologist felt it would be better than the Combo I have been taking and mastered for over 5 years, only been taking it for a few days, I am hoping this had a better but it takes a week or so to kick in, for Pain, I found a medication called sleep aid, which is a class one antihistamine that is FDA approved for sleep, and it works wonders, doxylamine succinate they come in 25mg tablets but I have only ever needed half, and they are non addictive too, unlike the Zopiclone.
I found taking sleep aid for a few days when I was really exhausted, worked wonder to aid my recovery.
Love light and peace

Hey Stormy,
Just a word of advice for you as I was also on amitriptyline for poor sleep patterns and pain when after 1 year I was attending my rheumatology clinic I was taken off it as it's only intended for short term treatment as the body becomes immune to it.
Regards
Brendan.

Hey Brendan,
Thanks for that, I have only been on it a few days and TBH I feel worse than I did before and I am only on 10 mg which is to be increased to 75 mg Incrementally, I have had to come off the pain killers and sleep aid I was taking to take this, I have been told that it can take up to a week to kick in, I am not sure if it is only to kill the pain at night, which if that's the case, I think I will discuss going back on my old treatment.
The Neurologist has requested I am sent to the CFS/MS Pain clinic, so maybe they will be able to give me more information.
Thank you so much, As I was led to believe this would be a long term solution to my pain and sleep problems.
Love light and peace x

I can't take amytryptaline but was prescribed Nortryptaline instead and was in it for about six months . It did help initially and eased pain but then it started to upset my poor digestive system and the pain and sleep reverted back so my gp and I decided to stop

Getting enough sleep and the right kind of sleep can help ease the pain and fatigue of fibromyalgia. It is important to discuss any sleep problems with your doctor, who can prescribe or recommend treatment for them.
Do you have any experience with sleeping more and feeling better? Any advice for other members?
Remember that sharing can help others to cope and prevent.
Best,
Gilda
