Dear Sickofpain,
Thank you for your message and I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling poorly and about the trouble you had with your friend. I've tagged a few fellow members to see if they have any experiences to share about their condition and being misunderstood by friends and family.
Hello All, I hope you don't mind you tagging you. Please feel free to share your experiences which could really help other community members going through the same thing.

A true friend from the heart would understand immediately. Perhaps she is having a difficult day ? She will cool off and text you soon. That’s what friends are like.
Very well done you for doing any university studying. Keep up the great work.
Take care

Friend
Since I put the message up about my friend who went off in a huff because I was ill when I was supposed to be going out with her, I still haven't heard a thing from her. She has blocked me on social media and wouldn't answer my calls or texts so I think that she's not the kind of friend I thought she would be. I was very upset at first about this but now I just can't be bothered with the drama of it all as I have more important things to deal with. I'm still studying at university for a psychology degree but have also recently discovered that I have a heart problem and that I have to go for a cardiac mri scan and a transoesophageal echocardiagram to determine how bad the heart problem is. It basically boils down to that I have a muscle mass in the left ventricle near the mitral valve in my heart and the Dr's need to decide what they are going to do about it as it is causing the mitral valve to leak. Also having problems with a nuisance neighbour who isn't making life easy and who watches everything we do in our garden, peers through our window at dusk to see if we have a cigarette and then comes begging for one and watches to see who comes to our front door and what goes out of our house and what comes in. So a friend who has shown that she's not as good a friend as I once thought is now at the back of my mind whilst I concentrate on more important things.
Thank you @Chuckie99c for your message of support and also @Michael for your message

@Sickofpain Hello Sickofpain, thank you for the update. That's a pity that your friend reacted in that way and that you've got such a troublesome neighbour to deal with on top of your studies and a difficult diagnosis. Do keep us informed of how you're feeling and of your results if you're up to it.
Take care,
Michael

I'm feeling so fed up with some people in my life at the moment, I was supposed to be going out with a friend today but when I was sat doing my university work this morning I fell asleep writing my notes and woke up about 12.15 pm. So I told the friend that I can't make it because I don't feel well enough. She has now gone in a huff with me and hasn't replied to my last message. This person works in the care services and said she knows about fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue but gets really annoyed when I have to cancel at short notice and this is really upsetting me and making me feel worse.
