Longest remission and longest flare-up

I have had regular flare ups for years .December 2016 I was started on infliximab and have been getting it on (infusion ) an 8 week basis weekly first 2 couple of weeks next ones 6 weeks next now at 8 weekly intervals . I still have pain and bloating and have to rush to the toilet but  according to my  consultant (who by the way has not  physically checked me) says I am now in remission .I have an appointment with my GI nurse next week and going to ask if I can stop getting the infusion of infliximab now the it is in remission . I also take 26 tablets a day and will I need to keep taking the ones for crohns . so I will let you know as soon as I do .

The infliximab should only take a few times  to work mine has taken over a year. hope this helps anybody starting infliximab or any meds please give them a chance to work, then after a reasonable period of time and they don't seam to work, you know you have giving that med a good try .
