I was on atenolol, but switched to metoprolol because it made me dizzy. But I was on atenolol for more than a year and I remember feeling very tired in the beginning. It wore of after a few months though and didn't bother me again. I have had a very good experience with metoprolol.

@Zachou1 No one can suggest a different Beta Blocker for you except your own GP. Each person reacts differently to different drugs. But Gefruaw is right. The side effects do ease up when your body gets used to the drug. So give it a fair try. if you are not happy, discuss it with your GP. Hope this is helpful

I had a heart attack and now I am on beta blockers (atenolol) and statins (crestor).
I recently switched to atenolol but i am not so happy with it, since I am constantly tired. Does anyone have experiences with atenolol? I am wondering if the side effects will wear off and I'm just being impatient.
can anyone recommend another beta blocker?
