The thing that really brightens my day is my wake up phone call and subsequent calls I receive during the day from my partner who lives and works 50 miles away from me :-).

For me, its the daily text from my otherhalf, then being able to put both feet on the floor after getting up from my bed. My daughter is another thing that keeps me going regardless of how I feel

If I am up and mobile, showered and breakfasted by 0930, its a really good day but waking up is simply another day I have to live for which I thankfull. My Oncologist gave me 3 to 5 years "if you are lucky". Well I am almost up to the full four years and still doing stuff, though not as much as I used.

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
I thought I would revive this discussion to lighten the mood a bit in these difficult times!
So, what is the brightest spot in your day? What makes you smile when you get out of bed in the morning? Is there something that helps you to stay positive?

When i get out of bed the first thing i do is say hello to my husband and my budgie minty ,since my birthday my husband bought me a lovely looking budgie i have called him minty because he has the beautiful colour of mint green ,he is adorable fun to watch i have bought him loads of hanging toys he has to swings and to watch him playing makes my life more happier as it has been really hard for me mi do have a few hobbies but i only do a bit at a time i love knitting, making jewellery, and doing a bit of colouring ,i do find it hard as having lymphoedema, and osteoporosis i cant do these for long as thd pain really hurts me but i do try to do certain things just to stop boredom, all my illnesses that i have restricts me doing a lot of things but my mental health does cause me a lot of problems, since this pandemic it has got worse but now i can go out more i take my rolator so i can go for short walks but i wear a mask and take my time but i am starting to enjoy my life more ,i love watching the tv and talking to my family on the internet, Tiger

Hello,
Living with cancer, whether it is you or a loved one, is never easy and everyday can bring a challenge. However, I want to ask you what simple pleasures do you get out of everyday life? It can be the first cup of coffee in the morning, reading a good book, doing the daily crossword...what simple pleasures do you enjoy?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
