Hi @Tigger.co.uk
Thanks for sharing.
With extreme high temperatures, this time of year especially hard when it comes to hot flushes. Let me ask some of our members to see if they have had similar experiences and if they have any recommendations of how to get relief.
@AngeliqueChampion @SharonM @Suesmusic @LinziG @Katieonetit @Sherlock @ClairePayne @Alisonjh @Linny63 @Milltarr2 @Lindadurance @Ruby75 @Tartantulips @RoxyEvans @Modesitt @KymPaterson @Nixxii @Cassiekins @Coralis59 @Melo28 @cag201 @fefe333
Do you get hot flushes? Are you affected by COPD or emphysema? Are you fearful that your cancer will return? What do you do to fight your depression and anxiety?
Please share your experiences with the group.
Take care,

Hi Tigger
Yes, I suffer from extreme sweating that has gradually got worse since having a Stem Cell Transplant after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. I cannot stress how awful and life affecting it is. My Myeloma Consultant and team do not recognise it as a symptom of MM or the transplant. They have sent me to every hospital department to try and find out what is causing it. Everyone would always mention menopausal hot flushes but as I had completed my Menopause before my diagnosis and am 67 years old they were ruled out. No one has come up with any answers I’m afraid so I have had to learn to live with it.
I have invested in battery operated hand held fans that recharge with a USB lead and are small enough to fit into my hand bag and I make sure that it is charged overnight and never leave home without it. They also fold so that you can place on a table in front of you. A god send when in restaurants etc. Ice towels are another godsend. When you wet them they become ice cold and placed around your neck help to cool you down very quickly. I take a wet (obviously not dripping wet! You thoroughly soak them then wring them out by hand) in a plastic bag everywhere I go and in the summer’s extreme heat wore it around my head! (It’s my head that sweats the most, literally runs down my face and neck). You can get a variety of colours and they look like a silk scarf around your neck. Both are available on Amazon for a very reasonable price.
I have met a very few other people on Myeloma forums who suffer with them but not many and an American guy was given a tablet (I’m sorry but I cannot remember the name) that is used for kidney problems that he said worked so well r that he no longer suffers but my Consultant would not prescribe them.
