@Flower123 Hi Flowers,
Thank you for posting! There are many other members who perhaps also feel limited by their AS, you are never alone with Carenity!
Can any other members relate to this? What do you do to battle against loneliness? Do you have any advice for flowers? :)

@Flower123 Your message has really resounded with me. I don't drink alcohol either because it doesn't agree with my mental health and I think that the socialising aspects of life can be greatly diminished because of that. Unfortunately, we live in a "pub culture" and that isn't going to change :(
You seem like a very friendly and open person! I battle loneliness by keeping myself busy, I go to the local library quite often too. I love the peace.

Hi Flower123 I know exactly how you feel. I worked up until 2005, when I had an accident at work which ended up with my diagnosis of AS. After a couple of years my consultant and I managed to get the pain under control, the combination of drugs and a little exercise (read my testimonial) seemed to get my condition manageable. I still have times where I get very severe 'flare ups' which 'knock me for six'. Working with the medical team in hospital and the local GP surgery, I have been able to 'keep on top' of my condition and all of it's little idiosyncrasies.
My advise to you dear friend is STAY POSITIVE. Don't think 'Oh woe am I' just get on and make the most the life you have. You will be surprised how you will get on by ALWAYS thinking POSITIVE.
Take Care Dear friend I'm always here to talk to?
Richard

Hi all, it’s been a long time, iv been Serling one property to buy a bungalow before my health gets worse! Iv always said I wanted to make sure I could get into my own bed I deserve that much after working so hard in my life!! But how do you come to terms with lonely ness, it’s mad I’m surrounded by ppl as iv got a good sense of humour I tend to make ppl laugh all the time yet I feel on my own!! I’d love to be able to go back to work just for the social side of life, I not a drinker so I don’t like pubs etc. I enquired about doing a dog grooming course as I have a 1yr old Bichon friese she’s amazing! Even adorable,, but on the site it says be careful as you’ve told DWP you can’t do this and that so it would defo affect your benefits! I was so disappointed!! Another thing failed in life, I wouldn’t do big dogs of course I know I’d struggle, I was going to specialise in small dogs!! But I do have good days also so I’m feeling pretty useless at the moment it’s only been 2 yrs work finished me up after 35yrs of none stop hard work. But very rewarding emotionally job!! I loved it,, looking after other ppl with diab
