Hello @CaryHutton, thank you for sharing with us. I know it can be frustrating when you don't feel like you've been listened to or that you've received adequate care.
For our other members, what do you think of the treatment you've received for your AS? Did it take a long time to get your diagnosis? Do you feel like your doctors listen to your questions and concerns? Did you have any say in the choice of treatment?

Hello @CaryHutton I must class myself as very, very lucky to have had the very best of care imaginable. My Consultant at the Royal Hospital for Rhumatic Diseases in Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, Raj Sengupta has involved me in any and all treatments over the last 17 years.
I am so sorry to hear of your experiences, you should be able to ask your consultant to keep you in the loop regarding your treatments.
Wishing you Good Luck @ richard0804

You are lucky to have a specialist not too far away. Here it is a four hour drive there and back again through mountainous roads, which is agonizing for me. Count your lucky stars. G

@CaryHutton I had trouble getting a referral and then getting an appointment. But I got there in the end and my doctor's wonderful with me. Sometimes it can be an uphill battle I'm afraid.

I've finally officially been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis after years of fighting with my GP and the NHS. Is it just me, or have I just been unlucky with the doctors that have dealt with my case? I would be interested if anyone else had had the same so-called treatment as I have..
