Diclofenac to become a prescription drug

I think this is the beauty of this site, we share the information we each have and get more knowledgeable about our illnesses and treatments.  I think in these days of cuts and cutbacks, it is sensible to know as much as we can so we can look out for ourselves a bit. :)

@Karen56 , Be careful because using Naproxen long ter m can be very bad for your stomach ... It gave me gastritis and a stomach ulcer and that was whilst taking 20mg of omeprazole twice a day . I am no longer allowed any anti-inflammatories .

Ohhh that's scary .... I take lansoprozol {sp?} which is much the same as omeprozole  {sp again} and  thought I was fairly safe taking that

Hello @xDarenx  yes I am as careful as I can be with all my drugs and always consider their side effects, and I always read the leaflet in the box to see what the manufacturers are saying, you can never know too much about what you take.  I also take 20mg of omeprazole following the gall bladder problem, acid reflux and heartburn with was from the gall bladder, now it has been taken out, problem has gone.

i am also banned from taking anti-inflammatories, even the rub in creams, which I thought were better, but doc says just as bad,,,,@Hileena, maybe a chat with the doctor, and maybe the uk.mediguard.org site for the information about effects on the body.

Thanks, will look up the mediguard site...never been on it.

As for a chat with my GP....she doesn't do chats, its in and out as fast as possible, ask about one thing and that's it. If you want to ask questions about anything else you have to make an appointment for each question
