Hello @diamond123 , thank you for opening this discussion. I agree, this is a difficult time for us all, especially for those of us with chronic conditions.
Hello members, what do you think of the Parkinson's Foundation advice? How are you holding up? Have you had any particular advice from your doctors?

Morning everyone x I was diagnosed with Parkinson's almost three years ago x I am lucky that I am still able to work although at the moment I am on 12 week social isolation x I work on the checkouts so it would have been almost impossible to avoid too much contact x work have been great x it was both my doctor and my Parkinson's nurse who advised me not to go to work and provided me with a letter to back me up x
Have a Happy Easter x

I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago but had problems tripping and breaking limbs 2yrs prior to this. Most of my symptoms are internal, and well controlled with various medications throughout the day. I have just had next weeks consultants appointment cancelled due to Covid-19. At 72 I don’t work but am feeling trapped like a caged animal.
I haven’t received any guidance from my GP or Parkinsons team as to whether I should 12 week isolate.

Morning Courtney. In answer to your question my doctor and Parkinson's nurse advised that I was not to leave the house unless it is absolutely necessary x i am very lucky in that I do have a good support network, but I am going stir crazy lol trying to keep busy but not always possible, it depends on what mood mr parky ( my nickname for Parkinson's) is in x
Wishing you well and a Happy Easter
Keep safe and keep well x

Hi all, I'm sorry I haven't been back on here in a bit, it's been difficult managing the family and my father's care in this chaos. His appointments were cancelled during most of this but I'm wondering if they'll be rescheduled soon with everything opening up. We've been staying in and trying to keep busy with puzzles, games, books, audio books, and the telly, but I can tell Dad's been frustrated inside.
How are you all doing? Will you all be shielding longer than June 1?
Stay safe!

@diamond123 I will be staying in beyond June 1. I've been trying to follow the guidance as it changes and it seems like the new changes for England are for people with no health conditions. I feel a bit as if we've been left out of the conversation. I've been trying to stay as active as I can with some home exercises and stretching but I'm not sure it's enough.
Let's keep our chins up, everyone. We're not going to let Parkinson's or the virus get us! Stay strong and safe!

Hello everyone,
I saw there wasn't a discussion for this yet, so I thought I'd create it. I've been caring for my father who has Parkinson's and I thought I'd share some helpful information I've found on the Parkinson's Foundation website. I know it's American, but I found it to be more informational and reassuring than what was on Parkinson's UK:

How is everyone holding up? My dad and I are doing alright, going a little "sir crazy" as they say only being allowed out into the garden, but we're keeping busy! Take care everyone!
