Hi yes I struggle to turn over in bed , I shuffle or just stay still, I have some vivid dreams which wakes me,so my sleep is often disturbed.
My pd nurse has recommended clonazapine which I will be trying soon. I also find im going to the toilet more often. unsettled times!!

@Margarita_k @darts180 I struggle with sleep as well. I often have a lot of trouble with insomnia and nocturia (waking up needing to urinate). I took zolpidem for a time which worked well for me, but now I take melatonin and a verbena tea. It takes me longer to fall asleep compared to sleeping pills but I feel better with a natural solution than another medicine. Sleep is so very important for us if we want to make it through the day!

Yes, my dad already has restless legs that keep him awake, but then when he does get to sleep he has vivid nightmares! The poor thing! I try to give him some calming tea before bed but it doesn't help much.

Hello, I have had trouble with sleeping for a long time. I have found that instead of trying to fight it with pills it is better to read or listen to the radio. One of my problems is that I am incontinent and for some years have been prescribed Amitripiline 50mg which slows up the urge to pass urine during the night. I take two. of them before going to bed. Another problem is turning in bed. I didn't think this was to do with Parkinson's as have been unable to do this for 8 years due to an autoimmune disease I have. I have to sit up to turn over. Restless leg syndrome is something that really drives me mad and so far haven't found anything that helps so if anyone has please tell me

Patients with Parkinson's Disease can experience sleep-related problems like insomnia, getting in and out of bed, nocturia (waking up at night with a storng desire to urinate), difficulties turning over in bed, etc.
Have you or the person you care for experienced such problems? How have you been coping?
Is there any medication prescribed by your doctor that you find useful?
Are there other techniques you use in order to improve your sleep, like yoga, meditation or other?
Thank you for sharing your experience with the community!
