@Michael_B I have my surgery this month and then I will possibly have to have chemo afterwards depending on how it goes. I'm interested to hear from others about surgery and recovery. xx

The first few days after surgery were the worst not helped by the fact it was when the heat wave was on last summer and coping with this as well was hard. I had trapped wind which was painful and often happens after surgery and some sickness. But after 3 days things started to improve.its to be expected as surgery is a major assault on your body! I then had 6 sessions of chemo which finished just before Christmas. Unfortunately my blood levels were low,I felt very tired and lethargic, so l had a blood transfusion. My main problem following all this has been the peripheral neuropathy in my feet caused by the chemo. It drives me mad some nights with tingling and numbness. My legs ache and when walking I dont feel as if I'm getting any traction with the ground and I can't go as fast as I want to.i try to walk every day to build up my strength and I swim .i have been told it could take 18months for this to improve. Otherwise i feel good and positive. I try not to think too much about what has happened but to move forward. My husband has Alzheimer's so that is more of a worry to me.

@Courtney_J My surgery ended up getting delayed because of COVID as it wasn't immediately life threatening, i'm waiting for a new date. Hope everyone is well!

@Survival Yes, it is interesting, it must depend on the doctor? I had my hysterectomy at the beginning of this month and depending on the biopsy results I'll start chemo. I hope you're well xx

@Survival I've heard as well that that's common. Maybe it depends on the grade of the cancer? I also had surgery before chemo. Have you finished your chemo?

Yes I've finished my chemo now. I had my operation after 5 sessions, then had another 2 sessions after the operation. Maybe it does depend on the stage as to how they treat it, I was stage 3 quite far advanced, so they needed to shrink it before they could operate. Maybe for earlier stages they can operate first before chemo.
