I find it very difficult to accept most if not all of these findings of the 150 (FM) subjects. I was diagnosed in 1999 with FM and later diabetes and other muscular skeletal conditions. My own doctor specialises in these conditions and obviously my high ranking specialist in RA AND FM and similar conditions.
In fact the only paragraph I agree with is the last one that summarises how to manage.
In reading this article I actually thought you'd mixed it up with persons suffering from dementia.
211 people is far to small a collection of people to apply this research of so called symptoms to the millions of people who do actually suffer from FM and RA conditions.
The cognitive impairment you mention in this research I find very difficult to accept and in my own case so far off the mark. I do suffer from fibrinogen and I can be a little forgetful over unimportant mundane things but my mental capacity is very strong and tests prove that.
If I did suffer from what is suggested in the paragraphs you write I'd be wanting tests for dementia.

Fibrofog not Fibrinogen.... predictive text is a nuisance.

I find it's the pain meds that give me brainfog, if I haven't slept very well that adds to the muzziness

I can be a bit forgetful sometimes and even sometimes forget where I have put my glasses Isnt that human nature. I often had trouble remembering whats been read out to me when I was at primary school.

I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalga. The pain is awful a lot of the time. I have suffered forgetfulness for some time and have woken up to bruises with know idea how I get them.
I am on new medication but reading the information I am concerned about the affects on internal organs.
It's the constant pain that I hope I get relief from.

I am 59 and suffer from arthritis but I have been asked to be checked for fibromyalgia as I get really bad aches and pains all over my joints and I suffer from really bad forgetfulness is it worth going to doctors?

I have both Fibromyalgia and ME Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
I can tell you emphatically that 'brain fog' or cognitive impairment is very real and I speak to hundreds of sufferers all over the world who experience this day n night.... It is certainly not human nature or forgetfulness or age, it's not as simple as oh i forgot where I put my glasses!!!!!
