@Courtney_J I work a desk job on the computer, and having OA in my hands can make it hard to work. On bad days I can barely grip the mouse or pick up a pencil, let alone type!

I now find walking is one of the most painful things to do. I can go about 30 metres with the aid of crutches but find you have to pay for it either straight after, bedtime or the next morning. I often think is it worth it?
stay safe.

Thats a difficult one , with multi joint arthritis it impacts on many routine daily tasks even simple things like opening a can, packet or parcel. My major prob right now is walking fortunately the isolation rules have helped and made delivery companies more ameniable to needs. I have just had a tip, if you cannot bend to pick up small items , kitchen tongs work well for things like letters ect.

I bend to walk as well. I also have stenosis in the bottom half of my spine, but was told by my consultant to stand up straight. I asked him if he thought he would be able to. The answer was silence.

@kellee55 , my thoughts are with you fortunately I don't have to work retired, when I did work there were many jobs I could not do as a cook in the normal way . In fact my DR said my job probably hastened the detrioration. can you not use a speech input to help reduce keyboard in put? I guess you use a special chair for your back , if not ask for the adatation to be done for work, of course at present many people are working from home, so probably use their own chairs not office ones. I am using a dining chair which I find more supportive of the back when sitting at computer. Beleive there are many free speech inputs on line including microsofts own. Hope this is of help.

@laney365 Hello Laney365, many people say why don't you do this including DRs & consultants but they don't have to live with it 7 days a week twentyfour a day. Do what is the easiest for you but try to do good posture if possible as bad posture causes pain elsewhere. I have multi joint arthritis and while using crutches for my knee recovery other joints have started to be more painful. This cold weather does not help either. Best wishes

I don't have a paticular thing that is more difficult to do, all things require adaptation to do with least pain. Many things I no longer do after 30 years of arthritic pain especially in my hands and feet. However I still remain active and run my own home with the help of gadgets , walking aids , and of course painkillers.

I so wish at times that I could transfer all the pain I have to the person who does not realise, including GP's, orthopaedic consultants, just for i hour or so and see what they then believe I should be able to do.
I also bend forward when walking and using my rollator. I do try to stay straight up but find my body automatically bends to reduce the pain. I would not get out if not for my rollator. I saw an orthopaedic registrar yesterday and not the consultant. The consultant specialises in joint pain and I have not met him yet and so I asked the registrar 'what are the best meds for all over joint pain' and he replied 'paracetamol'. I hope his future training is around pain relief, for paracetamols are what I use to once take for a headache!

Hello everyone,
